Questions salon owners ask
Can customers just pay in the chair?
- Yes. Tick “Customers pay in person” on a service and the customer confirms a time without paying online. The calendar, the confirmation email and your own notification all work exactly the same — you simply take the money at the till.
What about no-shows?
- Set “Free cancellation (hours before)” on each service. Anyone cancelling earlier than that is refunded automatically; anyone later is not, so a prepaid booking covers the time they took. Deposits are a rental feature and do not appear for appointments — for a salon, the prepaid booking is the equivalent.
Can I take bookings for more than one chair or stylist?
- Yes. Each chair or stylist is its own bookable item, with its own service list and opening hours. Your plan sets how many: one on Free, three on Starter, unlimited on Pro.
What do I need before I can take payment?
- One payment agreement in your own name. In Norway that is Vipps MobilePay, which takes NOK and confirms who your customer is through BankID; everywhere else it is Stripe, which takes cards plus whatever local methods you enable. Apply before you need it — approval can take a few days. You paste the keys into the Payments tab, they are validated as you type and stored encrypted.
What happens when a customer cancels?
- Cancel the booking in your dashboard and the time is freed immediately, so somebody else can take it. Whether money goes back is your policy, set per item under “Free cancellation (hours before)”: set a number and anyone cancelling earlier than that is refunded automatically; leave it empty and nothing is refunded automatically — you refund by hand in your Vipps or Stripe portal.
