Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 8, 2026
1. Introduction
Vashana is a product and service operated by Alvesta Systems AS, a company registered in Norway (Org. nr. 936 927 548) ("we," "our," or "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data of our own users — your account, your billing, your use of the Service. This policy is about that data.
There is a second relationship, and a different document covers it. For the people who use the sites you build — your visitors, your customers, your renters — you are the controller and we act as your processor. Those terms are in our Data Processing Agreement, and the third parties involved are listed on our sub-processor page.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website creation and hosting services ("the Service").
Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:
- Register for an account (email address, name)
- Use our services (website content, files, preferences)
- Contact us for support
- Subscribe to our newsletter or marketing communications
- Make a purchase or payment (payment information processed by FastSpring)
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you access our Service, we may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geolocation
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Access times and dates
- Pages viewed and time spent on pages
- Unique device identifiers
- Referring website addresses
2.3 Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy for detailed information about our use of cookies.
2.4 Website Analytics
We measure traffic to vashana.com with Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that processes data within the EU. We chose it specifically so that understanding our own traffic does not require tracking you:
- It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device
- It does not collect or store personal data, and does not create a profile of you
- Your IP address is used only transiently to derive a country and is never stored
- It cannot follow you across other websites
- We record one additional event — that an account was created — with no information about who created it
Because no personal data is collected and nothing is stored on your device, this processing does not rely on your consent. This applies to our own marketing site only; websites built by our customers are covered by their own policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for:
- Service Delivery: Providing, operating, and maintaining our Service
- Account Management: Processing transactions and managing your account

- Legitimate Interest: Analytics, security, and service improvement
- Legal Obligation: Compliance with applicable laws

4.2 Domain Registration Data
When you purchase a domain through Vashana, additional data sharing occurs as required by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers):

This data sharing is required to complete domain registration and cannot be opted out of while maintaining domain ownership. For more details, see Section 8 (Domain Registration Services) in our Terms of Service.
