Analytics & cookie banner
Built-in analytics
Every published site collects visitor statistics automatically — no setup, no third-party scripts and no cookies. Open Analytics on the creation's card in the dashboard to see:
- total page views, unique visitors and bandwidth,
- traffic over time,
- your top pages, with each one's share of the total,
over the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days.
The button is disabled until the site has been published, and figures only start accumulating from the first visit after that.
Because this collection sets no cookies — visitors are counted with a hash that is re-salted every day, not with anything that identifies them — it does not by itself require a cookie banner.
Adding your own analytics
If you want your traffic in a tool you already use, open Content → Cookies & analytics in the editor and add:
- Google Analytics — your measurement ID (
G-XXXXXXXXXX), or - Plausible — your domain.
The tag is added to the published site the next time you publish. This is your integration with your provider: what it collects, and under which terms, is between you and them.
The cookie banner
The same panel holds the cookie banner. Switch it on and you can set:
- the message shown to visitors,
- a link to your privacy policy,
- the position — a bar along the bottom, or a popup.
When to use it: if you have added Google Analytics, an advertising pixel or any other tracking of your own, you almost certainly need consent before it runs. If your site is only using Vashana's cookieless statistics, you generally don't — but the rules depend on your country and on what else your site does, so check what applies to you.
The banner's text is deliberately not translated automatically, since it is a legal statement — write it in the language your visitors read, and see Site translation for what happens to it on translated sites.
