Editor guide

The editor is where you refine what the AI built. It is one screen: your site on the canvas, and three doors — Look, Content and Ask — holding everything you can change. On a phone the doors sit along the bottom; on a larger screen they form a rail down the left.

Nothing in the editor is live until you press Publish.

The header

  • Page menu — the page name next to the back arrow switches between the pages of your site.
  • Editor / Files — Editor is the visual canvas; Files is the file manager. On a phone this toggle moves into the ⋯ menu.
  • Undo — steps back through your edits (redo lives in the ⋯ menu).
  • Publish — puts the current draft live.
  • ⋯ — Open site, Share, Copy URL, Download PDF (on a CV) and Help.

Look

Everything about how the site feels:

  • Colours — your palette. Change the primary colour and the whole site follows.
  • Typography — heading and body fonts.
  • Motion & effects — corner rounding, scroll reveals, hover behaviour, button and card styles, texture.
  • Images — upload from your device, generate one with AI, or browse everything already uploaded. See Images & files.

Content

Everything about what the site says and what it does:

  • Add a section — the section picker: heroes, feature grids, galleries, pricing, contact forms, FAQs and more. Tap one to drop it in, or drag it to a position.
  • Pages — add, rename, reorder or delete pages.
  • Bookings — turn booking on, connect a payment provider, and jump to the booking dashboard. See Taking bookings.
  • Store & checkout — connect Snipcart or Stripe to sell products. See Selling products.
  • Site chat — a WhatsApp/Messenger button, or the chatbot on Pro. See AI chatbot & chat buttons.
  • Languages — translate the site. See Site translation.
  • Cookies & analytics — the cookie banner and your own Google Analytics or Plausible tag. See Analytics & cookie banner.
  • Files & backups — the file manager and your restore points.

Each row shows its own state, so you can see at a glance that booking is on but has no payment provider yet, or that the store is not set up.

Ask

The chat, in the same screen as the site. Describe a change in plain language and it is applied to your draft:

  • "Make the hero darker and shorten the heading"
  • "Add a testimonials section with three quotes"
  • "Write an about page for a bakery that opened in 1998"

Good to know:

  • Be specific. "Change the hero heading to 'Fresh bread daily'" beats "improve the hero".
  • Every AI edit consumes credits.
  • Opening Ask from a selected section scopes the conversation to that section, so you can say "make this one green" without naming it.

Working on the canvas

Click a section in the preview and an action card appears with everything you can do to it:

  • Edit — the section's fields (text, images, cards, links).
  • Ask — the AI, scoped to this section.
  • Layout — alternative arrangements for this section type.
  • Colour and Effects — background and animation for this section alone.
  • Move up / Move down / Copy / Delete.
  • Image actions — replace, remove, upload, pick from the gallery, or generate.

While a section is selected its text is editable directly in the preview — click the words and type. Sections can also be dragged up and down the page.

Files mode

Switch to Files in the header for the file manager: upload assets, generate images, protect individual files with a password, and open Backups to restore an earlier version. See Images & files and Backups & restore.

Publishing your work

Publish renders the whole site and puts it live. Drafts are private until then, and publishing again is how every later change reaches your visitors — including booking prices, product snapshots and the chatbot's knowledge. See Publishing & domains.

Undo and versions

Undo/redo covers your editing session. For a bigger safety net, use backups: one is taken automatically each time you publish, and one is taken of your draft before any restore.
